Weekly Message from the Pastor - Sept. 28, 2018

September 28, 2018

Dear Friends,

We have heard the saying, “You are known by the company you keep.” Perhaps your parents said something to that effect as they hoped that you spent time with people who would bring out the best in you and engage you in positive and healthy activities. As parents, that is what we hope for our children.   How we act and how we treat people can reflect on the company we keep.

How do our attitudes and actions reflect our keeping company with Jesus? Has being a follower of Jesus helped to uncover the best in us, and are we engaged in activities that are influenced by this relationship?

As we continue our series, “Did Jesus Really Say That?” we will look at Jesus’ saying: “Deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow me.” How does our relationship with Jesus give us the will to respond?

I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. Who in your life is in need of prayer? Let us pray for them in worship this Sunday.

Yours in Christ,

PS – I hope to see you all at the Buckhall Neighborhood Fall Festival, tomorrow, 9/29, at 5:00pm to 7:30pm. There will great food, good company, and fun activities. Come join us and bring some friends!
