I love to watch “Before and After” – type shows. They begin by showing a room that is out-of-date, cluttered, and unusable. By the end of the show the room is uncluttered, chic-ly styled, and inviting. Or maybe you’ve seen a show that makes over people who are identified as needing a make-over (maybe, nominated by a friend or family member). By the end of the show, the person is well-groomed, stylishly dressed, and seems to carry themselves with more confidence.
This Sunday, as we continue our series, “Fixer-Upper,” we will look at a man who is wealthy; yet, whose life is impoverished in many ways – and whois in great need of a make-over. But this make-over has nothing to do with the state of his home or his appearance, but has everything to do with deeper, more lasting change – a change of his heart. It is Jesus who guides him on the path to a “heart make-over”.
Are there places in your life, in your heart, that could use a Jesus-styled make-over? Join us on Sunday as we reflect on what that looks like in our lives. I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. Please think about people you know who might be going through a difficult time, or someone who needs our prayers – let us know how we can pray for them; and, perhaps, invite them to join you in worship.
Yours in Christ,
