November 2, 2018
Who are the saints in your life? Who are people who loved you, nurtured you, taught you, supported you, perhaps even challenged you to become your best? They often gave selflessly of themselves as they shared a part of your journey. This Sunday, is All Saints’ Sunday, and, at all 3 services, we will read the names of the saints who have gone onto glory; remembering how they touched our lives.
Also this Sunday we will receive your pledge cards, indicating your financial commitment to the ministries at Buckhall United Methodist Church for 2019. Through your giving, we are able to help people grow in grace through meaningful worship, thoughtful studies, serving others, welcoming our neighbors, and giving generously. I hope you prayerfully consider your giving for this coming year. At all 3 services we will offer a prayer of consecration for the pledges.
As the end of 2018 is in sight, we recognize the many ways that you have given of your time, your talents and your prayers to the ministries at Buckhall, in addition to your financial support; and we thank you for your giving. However, as we review our 2018 finances year-to-date, we recognize that we are behind financially. In response, we ask that, if you are able, to please bring your giving up-to-date. This gives us a more accurate picture of our finances. Or as you are led, consider giving a year-end gift to help us end 2018 in financial good health. As always we are grateful for your faithfulness in serving and generosity in giving; these are hallmarks of the saints of the church.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday. Please continue to pray for the church and its mission here in this community. Thank you for the many ways you give.
Yours in Christ,
(And now for something completely different - REMEMBER YOU GET TO SLEEP IN AN EXTRA HOUR ON SUNDAY, AS YOU TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK! YAY!)
