Worship at Buckhall UMC
Buckhall UMC offers 3 worship services every Sunday morning: 8:30am, 10:00am, and 11:15am.
The 8:30am and 11:15am services are traditional worship while our 10:00am offers contemporary worship.
Traditional worship features hymns, prayers, scripture reading, special music, and a sermon by our pastor. Special music is provided by our choir. Communion is held once a month on the first Sunday of the month at our traditional services; though occasionally it may be offered more frequently.
Contemporary worship offers a more informal, high-energy worship. Contemporary Christian music is led by a lead singer and accompanist. The service opens with singing of several praise songs with words projected onto screens at the front of the sanctuary. We offer scripture readings, praise songs, and a message.
Regarding Holy Communion, the United Methodist Church has an open table policy. If you desire to receive this holy meal, then you are invited to partake of the Lord’s Supper. Children are free to partake at their parents’ discretion. After partaking of communion, you are invited to kneel at the altar rail for prayer as you feel led.
What about Children in worship?
Children are always welcomed in worship. Baskets containing Children Worship Bags are located at the doors to the sanctuary. These bags contain activities to help kids connect to the worship service. There is also a nursery available for children, ages birth to 3 years old, from 8:15 to 12:30 on Sunday mornings. Our nursery team cares for the children in a safe and loving environment.
At all worship services, children are invited to come to the altar for a special time with the pastor. At the 8:30am and 11:15am services, children ages 3 to 7 are welcome to leave the sanctuary following the children’s time to attend children’s worship. At the 10:00am service, children of all ages are invited to leave to attend Sunday school. .In Children’s Worship they experience Bible lessons, songs, crafts, and games.
Our youth typically attend the 10:00am contemporary service, and then attend a Sunday School class for youth during the 11:15am worship service.

Special Worship Services
During the church year, we celebrate worship at times other than Sunday morning; such as - Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, or a prayer service during the Christmas season, for example. These are ways that we connect with parts of our story as people who seek to follow Jesus Christ.
